The model "From Land to Sea", which has been continuously developed since 2016, deals with the analysis of plastic input into the seas of the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea. However, the discussion among experts on the topic of marine litter is now moving away from focusing solely on inputs of plastics into the oceans and calling for a more comprehensive view of inputs and fate of plastics in the environment beyond. The new BKV report "Plastics in the Environment" now takes this into account and additionally looks at the inputs and fate of plastic litter in soils and inland waters.
