The Special Working Group of the Conference of Environment Ministers "Strengthening the Use of Recycled Materials" (RESAG) plans to present its findings on May 16 in Berlin.
The establishment of the Special Working Group to Strengthen the Use of Recyclates (RESAG) was decided in 2020. The recyclate market had untapped growth opportunities in many areas and offered enormous opportunities both ecologically and economically. Exploiting these and bringing recyclates out of their niche existence and into large parts of the plastics processing industries is the goal of RESAG, is said. The group reportedly discussed and developed framework conditions and demands for strengthening the use of recycled plastics in several working groups between January 2021 and January 2022 under the leadership of the environmental ministries of Brandenburg and Baden-Württemberg with 121 nationwide representatives from trade, production, plastics processing, recyclate production and the waste disposal industry, as well as administration and science. Based on the work results of the RESAG, the environmental ministries of Brandenburg and Baden-Württemberg formulated 27 main demands with concrete individual measures and agreed them with the participants. These are to be presented to the public at the RESAG final event on May 16, 2022, starting at 5:30 p.m., at the Haus der Kreislaufwirtschaft (Von-der-Heydt-Strasse 2, 10785 Berlin) and discussed in a panel of experts together with Brandenburg's Environment Minister Axel Vogel and Baden-Württemberg's Environment Minister Thekla Walker. Interested parties can register for the event until April 28.
