The Green Dot acquires French film recycler RG Group
The Green Dot Group is further expanding its European recycling business and entering the mechanical recycling of PE film in France.
To this end, the parent company of Duales System Deutschland GmbH (DSD) has integrated the French RG Group, according to a statement from DSD. The takeover will see two LDPE recycling sites in Tence and Saint-Pal-de-Mons (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, south of Lyon) transferred to the Green Dot. The group now operates a total of five mechanical plastics recycling plants in Germany, Italy and France, following the integration of the Italian recycler Forplast last year. According to the company, the RG Group currently processes more than 20,000 tonnes of LDPE film annually, with potential for expansion to over 35,000 tonnes. The plants primarily recycle commercial and industrial PE films and are thus intended to complement the Green Dot’s existing portfolio across various waste streams. Founded in 2019, the company achieved a turnover of around 20 million euros in 2025 and employs approximately 50 staff.
Laurent Auguste, CEO of the Green Dot Group, described the integration as a strategic step to strengthen the group’s market position in France. He noted that the country was considered a key market with growing demand for additional recycling capacity and regulatory initiatives such as the eco-modulation system, which promoted the use of recycled materials. According to Auguste, regional value chains are to be strengthened, particularly within the plastics cluster around Lyon.
