Renolit is merging its Worms and Frankenthal sites

According to the plastics processor, it is investing around 130 million euros in the location project.
The consolidation of the two plants at the Worms site is expected to take up to five years, Renolit announced. All employees from the Frankenthal site will be offered a job at the Worms site, the family-owned company emphasized in its statement. Dr. Michael Bätz, management of the Worms production site, explained: “By combining the two plants at the Worms site, we want to ensure Renolit's competitiveness and thus also jobs in the region.”
Renolit wants to set up a production facility for single-stage films for the Visual Communication business unit at the Worms site, from the mixing plant to the cold warehouse. At the Worms site, the family-owned company owns five hectares of unused space where the new production facility is to be built. The Frankenthal plant has reportedly been part of the Renolit Group since 1999. It currently produces films mainly for self-adhesive applications, such as films for vehicle wrapping, lettering or guidance systems. As part of the site merger, both the production volumes and parts of the existing machinery are to be relocated from Frankenthal to Worms, 12 kilometers away. The production volume at the Worms site is to be increased from around 24,000 tons per year to 38,000 tons per year. This would correspond to an increase of more than 50 percent.
