According to Remondis, sales amounted to around 8.2 billion euros last year, 0.3 billion more than in 2019 and 2018. The company said the increase was partly due to acquisitions. The company has been expanding for several years, and the business has been significantly enlarged. The number of employees, including trainees, increased by about 1,000 to 38,000 employee*s. Remondis did not provide any information on profits. Germany's largest waste management company is active in all areas of the waste market: The company operates waste collection, sorting facilities and recycling sites, offers other services and has its own dual system. Since 2019, Remondis has been competing with Prezero, a waste company belonging to the Schwarz Group, which has made several acquisitions and could now be Germany's second-largest. Prezero plans to publish business figures for 2020 at the end of this month.
