According to Polyrec the Polyolefin Circular Economy Platform (PCEP), Styrenics Circular Solutions (SCS) and European Manufacturers of Expanded Polystyrene (Eumeps) initiatives have joined the association founded in March this year by Petcore Europe, Plastics Europe, Plastics Recyclers Europe and Vinyl Plus. Through its Recotrace data collection system, Polyrec records the material flows of recycled plastics in Europe with the aim of improving traceability, transparency and trust in recycled materials along the entire plastics value chain. In doing so, Polyrec says it aims to ensure that the data collected on recycled plastics is comprehensive, consistent and comparable across all polymer types and sectors. Polyrec reportedly now includes European plastics producers, recyclers and converters in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyester (PET), polyolefin (PO), polystyrene (PS) and expanded polystyrene (EPS).
