At the FEAD General Assembly in Brussels, the BDE President was elected to succeed Jean-Marc Boursier, Suez's CEO.

Peter Kurth (59), President of the Federation of the German Waste, Water and Raw Materials Industries (BDE), was elected head of the European Waste Management Association in Brussels and, according to Euwid, will take office as the new President of the European Federation of Waste Management Industries (FEAD) on 1 January 2020. The position of the Deputy Secretary General will be taken over, according to the information, from 54-year-old Valérie Plainemaison. BDE and the French waste management association FNADE would show their willingness to assume responsibility in the European umbrella organisation to represent the concerns of the industry with assumption of the offices. Kurth thanked for the trust that the General Assembly has placed in him with its vote. As is well known, many important decisions for the waste management industry are pending at EU level, said Kurth. The new management team wants to continue to keep a very close eye on the interests of the industry and intensify the exchange with players at European level.
