PackTheFuture Award 2023 presented

The winners of this year's awards for sustainable plastic packaging have been announced.

During interpack 2023, the associations of the German and French plastic packaging industry that organize the award, IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen and ELISPO, announced the winners. The award for innovative and sustainable packaging solutions made of plastic was offered by the associations for the sixth time. The award is said to aim in particular to promote and publicize the contribution of plastic packaging to climate protection, the circular economy and responsible consumption. The entries from European companies testify to the award's reputation and, in the associations' view, demonstrate the industry's dynamism and strong capacity for innovation. The PackTheFuture Award was an important signal that the packaging industry is ready to take responsibility and develop solutions that meet both consumer needs and environmental and climate protection requirements, explains IK managing director Mara Hancker. "The packaging presented here is proof that plastics, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand and that the transformation of the packaging industry is already in full swing," Hancker added. The 27 entries in the "Ecodesign" category showed that sustainable development is becoming increasingly important for corporate strategies, he added. From a total of 56 entries, the jury selected ten winners and awarded a special prize and an honorable mention.

The winners in the "Eco Design" category with their product innovations are Adapa DACH GmbH (Germany) with "VACUshrink(re)MEXX55", Albea Services SAS (France) with " Ecofusion PCR ThinWall", Aptar Beauty (France) with The Body Shop shower gel range with the recyclable pump "Future" from Aptar Beauty, Leygatech (France) with "LT clear 515R" and Profol GmbH (Germany) with "CPPELL®".
