Nova Institute: Database on chemical recycling technologies
The Nova Institute’s database is designed to provide an overview of companies, technologies, plants, capacities, locations, products and partnerships.
The new Advanced Recycling Database brings together up-to-date market and technology information on a central platform, thereby supporting strategic, technical and investment decisions, according to a press release from the Nova Institute. According to the Nova Institute’s analysis, so-called ‘advanced’ recycling processes are increasingly moving from the development and demonstration phase into widespread industrial application. Consequently, there would be a growing need for information – particularly in the chemical, plastics, recycling and materials industries – to evaluate technologies, identify suitable partners and make informed assessments of an increasingly complex market.
According to the information provided, the database is continuously updated by experts at the Nova Institute as soon as new information becomes available. The database currently comprises, according to the information provided, 152 companies from 29 countries as well as 399 facilities in 68 countries, with details on technologies, facilities, capacities, locations, products and partnerships. According to the Nova Institute, this makes it possible to identify which processes are already in use or being scaled up, where new capacities are being established, and which providers are active in the various recycling streams. On this basis, relevant technology providers, potential partners and other market players could be identified. According to the information provided, users can search specifically for the information they require using various search, filter and sorting functions. According to the Nova Institute, the selection criteria include, amongst others, feedstock, polymer type, technology, country and product outputs. The Advanced Recycling Database can be used for 250 euros per month. A minimum contract term of one year applies. Each additional user is charged 80 euros per month.
