New leadership for VinylPlus

Dr Alexander Kronimus will become the new managing director of the PVC industry association VinylPlus on 15 May 2025.

This has been announced by VinylPlus Germany and the association of plastics manufacturers PlasticsEurope Germany (PED). Both associations are close partners and complement each other in their areas of activity.

Kronimus is taking over from Thomas Hülsmann, who has headed VinylPlus Germany for more than 11 years and is retiring in September. According to the press release, Hülsmann and Kronimus will manage the association together from May to August to ensure an optimal transition. Kronimus has been Head of Climate Protection and Circular Economy at PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. since 2022 and a member of the management board since 2023. He is currently deputy chief managing director. PED managing director Dr Christine Bunte emphasises: ‘Alexander Kronimus has already promoted the sustainable use and recycling of plastics at Plastics Europe Deutschland by combining technical depth with diplomatic skills. I am delighted that he can now apply these skills at the helm of VinylPlus Germany and continue them in the proven manner for the PVC value chain.’ PED Chairman Dr Ralf Düssel explains: ’With Alexander Kronimus's move to VinylPlus Germany, the plastics value chain will be strengthened. On behalf of all members and the board, I would like to express my sincere thanks for his enormous commitment and the great work he has done at PlasticsEurope Deutschland, and I wish Alexander Kronimus every success in the challenges ahead.’ Dr. Oliver Mieden, CEO of VinylPlus Deutschland, is looking forward to working with him: ’In Alexander Kronimus, we are gaining a future managing director who is recognised and well connected in the plastics industry.’
