Monomaterial bag for dishwashing detergent

Mondi has developed a refillable pouch for Henkel's Pril brand that is made of 100 percent polyethylene and is said to be fully recyclable.

According to Henkel, the Pril dishwashing liquid has been offered in a refillable PET dispenser made from 100 percent recycled material since January of this year. The dispenser can be refilled with Mondi's monomaterial pouches, supporting Henkel's sustainability goals of making 100 percent of its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025 and reducing 50 percent of new fossil plastic. If consumers used the refill pouch instead of buying a new Pril bottle, that would reduce plastic consumption by 70 percent each time. The flexible stand-up pouch is easily placed at the point of sale and is easy to recycle, the two companies say. Carsten Bertram, Head of Global Packaging Innovation Dishwashing at Henkel, explains, "Our strategy is based on the circular economy and focuses on integrating recycled plastics, reducing the amount of plastic packaging, reusable packaging and using fully recyclable packaging concepts to close the loop. Mondi was the obvious partner to help us with its expertise to create the best possible solutions."
