Modular expanding plant for chemical recycling

The world's largest site for chemical plastics recycling is to be built near Dresden using a modular construction method.

The world's largest site for chemical plastics recycling is to be built near Dresden as a joint project between Dresden-based Biofabrik Technologies GmbH and Swiss-based Enespa AG as financier. The basis is the modular Wastx small-scale plants developed by Biofabrik. According to the companies, the first Wastx Plastic is to be launched as early as this spring. Over the next three years, the site is to be expanded to a capacity of several hundred tons per day. The advantages of modular design, they say, are that they are lightweight and almost infinitely scalable, and that such a system is better equipped to withstand failures: if one module fails, the others can continue to operate.
