The BKV Report 2024/2025 provides information on the latest studies and the work of the central platform for the plastics industry.
 

BKV GmbH is a think tank and centre of excellence for the German plastics industry. It brings together plastics manufacturers, processors and machine builders under one roof. The aim of the platform is to use its expertise from studies and projects to facilitate a fact-based discussion on the topics of resource efficiency and recycling of plastics, thereby contributing to solutions for a competitive, sustainable and modern plastics industry. In the past financial year, for example, BKV produced a series of fundamental studies on the recycling of plastics, focusing on both the production and application of plastics and on networking in the value chain through to the reuse of recyclates and by-products. The most recent studies cover the following topics:

• Status quo and forecast of demand and availability of post-consumer recyclates in 2030 (published February 2025)
• Potential of plastics recycling from commercial end-user waste (published January 2025)
• Plastics relevant waste streams in Germany 2023 (published in January 2025)
• Plastic flow in Germany 2023 (published in November 2024)

The current report not only provides insights into these latest studies, but also offers an overview of the activities and structure of the BKV.
