Kaufland with products made from recycled plastic

The retail chain offers household products with at least 95 percent recycled content in its non-food range.

The Kaufland retail chain, part of the Schwarz Group, has been offering storage boxes in two different sizes since mid-January. As a product with at least 95 percent recycled plastic, they are part of the Reset Plastics strategy initiated by the Schwarz Group and implemented together with the group's own company Prezero. According to Kaufland, the new range will include other products such as organizers, trash cans, trash bag holders and folding boxes over the course of the year. Polypropylene from post-consumer waste collected and processed by Prezero would be used for the storage boxes. Plast Team, a plastics processor specializing in household products, is siad to produce the boxes. According to a Kaufland spokeswoman, who spoke with the magazine Kunststoff Information, the switch to PP recyclate saves about 50 tons of virgin material.
