Kassel Waste and Resources Forum 2026
The conference, accompanied by a trade fair, will take place from April 14 to 16, 2026, at the Kongress Palais Kassel.
Organized by the Witzenhausen Institute for Waste, Environment, and Energy, this year’s event will once again bring together experts from the fields of the circular economy, waste management, and resource management. During the conference, participants will discuss the challenges and prospects for a sustainable and climate-neutral circular economy, as well as the diverse opportunities and challenges of waste recovery.
According to the program, the first day of the event will focus on the prospects of the circular economy, sustainability, and climate protection, as well as current challenges and prospects in battery recycling in Germany. On the second day, April 15, 2026, the “Biowaste Forum” and a forum on the topics of “Plastics, Packaging, Waste Incineration, CCU/CCS” will take place in parallel. BKV GmbH is also participating in the latter. The program includes a short presentation by BKV Managing Director Dr. Ingo Sartorius on the results of the study “Status quo and forecast of demand and availability of post-consumer recyclates in 2030”, commissioned by BKV and conducted by Conversio Market & Strategy GmbH. Christoph Lindner, Managing Director of Conversio Market & Strategy GmbH will provide insights into the “Global Plastics Flow 2023” study, featuring facts and figures on the lifecycle of plastics in 45 countries worldwide and which also conducted this study on behalf of BKV. Finally, on Thursday, April 16, two additional parallel forums are scheduled on the topics of “Used Textiles and AI” and “Recycling Centers and Landfills.” In addition, companies will present their services and products at a concurrent trade fair during the congress.
