The mood in the boardrooms of German companies is brightening despite the ongoing economic crisis.

The ifo Business Climate Index rose from 87.7 points in September to 88.4 points, as announced by the ifo Institute on October 27. This was based on a survey of around 9,000 executives. According to ifo experts, the reason for the improved mood in October was more optimistic expectations for the coming months. The current business situation, on the other hand, was assessed as somewhat worse. “The German economy continues to hope for an upturn in the coming year,” said ifo President Clemens Fuest.
