GKV online workshop on REACH & Co

he Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie (German Plastics Processing Industry Association GKV) invites its member companies to attend an information event.

According to the information provided, the online workshop will focus on the following topics: the current status of the EU chemicals regulation REACH and amendments to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on the classification, labeling, and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP), status and impact of the microplastics restriction and the new EU regulation on the prevention of pellet losses in practice. Another topic to be discussed is that, in accordance with the restriction on microplastics under Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation, as of November 2025, all plastics processors, including molded part manufacturers, will have reporting obligations to the Chemicals Agency in Helsinki by May 31, 2026. A current classification of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds (PFAS) is also on the workshop agenda. According to the GKV, the event is aimed at companies that want to adapt to new obligations at an early stage and minimize regulatory risks. The association wants to  support its member companies, which are frequently confronted with chemical law inquiries from their customers. In its invitation, the GKV points out that the workshop will also offer a list of the most important regulations with secure links for quick reference. The workshop will take place online on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
