Expert discussion on marine plastics

The initiative "Chemistry in Dialog" (CID) invites to an online talk with experts on March 1, 2022.

How can the problem of the plastic tide in the oceans be tackled? Is a global agreement, as planned by the UN, enough? What are companies that produce and circulate plastic packaging doing? Are recycling and circular flow the solution? And how do you recover released plastics from the oceans? Participants can discuss these questions online with experts from plastics processing, environmental protection and a technology start-up. The "Your Chemistry" platform invites interested parties to do so on March 1 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Ulrike Sapiro, Chief Sustainability Officer of Henkel AG, Viola Wohlgemuth, expert for consumption and resource protection at Greenpeace, and Clemens Feigl, CEO of the start-up "Everwave," which develops technologies for cleaning up oceans and rivers, will be on hand to answer questions. Questions can also be put to the speakers in advance via an online module.

"Your Chemistry" is an information and dialog offering of the "Chemistry in Dialog" (CID) initiative, a communications initiative of the VCI and other associations and companies in the chemical industry. The public online events address current issues to experts from politics, business and science, as well as to anyone interested in future issues.
