Erema and Intco to drive PET recycling forward

Chinese recycling company Intco plans to make major investments and expand its cooperation with Erema.

Global Chinese recycling company Intco, which is reportedly one of the largest recyclers and end users of expanded polystyrene (EPS) waste and has also been active in PET recycling for the past five years, plans to invest heavily in the expansion of PET recycling solutions over the next few years. The company also claims to become the leading supplier in this segment and, to this end, increase its PET recycling capacity from around 150,000 tons per year at present to one million tons in the next few years. Frank Liu, founder and chairman of Intco Medical Technology Co., Ltd. and Shandong Intco Recycling Resources Co., Ltd. explains, "To achieve this, we need an experienced and reliable technology partner, and with Erema we have that on our side." Intco has been using technologies and service from the Austrian recycling machine manufacturer for more than ten years, he adds. Manfred Hackl, CEO Erema Group GmbH, says: "Intco is a partner that also has the end product in mind from the outset in its recycling solutions. Promoting a circular economy for plastics is our common goal, which requires the highest possible quality of the regranulate. This is where the strength of our team comes into play, as well as our patented technologies, which we are constantly developing together with our customers and partners."
