In the coming months, Conversio Market & Strategy GmbH will again survey companies along the entire value chain.
Data on production, consumption, waste generation and recycling of companies from plastics production, processing and recycling, as well as from official and other statistics, will be incorporated into the comprehensive material flow picture of plastics in Germany. For several years now, the material flow analysis has also provided information on how many recycled plastics are returned to the cycle in the form of recyclates at which point in the value chain. The study, which has been published every two years since 1998 and is now entering its 13th edition, documents progress in recovery and recycling and contributes to transparency in the plastics debate. Most recently, more than 2,000 companies in the plastics industry participated in the data collection for the 2019 Conversio study. For this year's study, questionnaires will soon be sent out through various channels, telephone interviews will be conducted, and research and investigations will be launched. The publication of the Material Flow Analysis Plastics 2021 is planned for October 2022. The publication is highly regarded by politicians, authorities and the specialist public and shows that recycling management is a key issue for the German plastics industry.
