The bvse-Altkunststofftag will take place on June 28 and 29 in Neuss. The BKV will be there again with a workshop.
The 24th International Altkunststofftag, the international meeting of the plastics recycling industry in Germany, will be opened at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, by Henry Forster, president of bvse-Bundesverband Sekundärrohstoffe und Entsorgung e.V.. Starting at 2 p.m., the panel discussion on "Implementing the European Plastics Strategy" is scheduled to begin, led by Stefan Krafzik, publisher and editor-in-chief of the online magazine 320°. After a coffee break, the event will continue with two parallel workshops: Workshop A "New ideas to improve collection and sorting of plastic waste" (in English) led by Dr. Thomas Probst and the BKV Workshop B "Ways to more plastic recycling - funding instruments and technologies" led by Bernhard Borgardt, Vice Chairman of the BKV Advisory Board.
In the first part of the BKV workshop, Dr. Thomas Kirschstein of Fraunhofer IMW and Andreas Witschnigg of PreZero Polymers will give short keynote presentations on promotional instruments for plastics recycling from their professional perspectives before entering into discussion with Dr. Bettina Rechenberg of the Federal Environment Agency and Klaus-Peter Schmidt, Mauser Werke GmbH, under the moderation of Dr. Ingo Sartorius, Managing Director of BKV GmbH. The second part of the workshop will focus on modern recycling technologies: Dr. Jörg Rothermel from the VCI-Verband der Chemischen Industrie e.V. (German Chemical Industry Association) will provide substantive impetus on the topic of climate neutrality in the recycling economy, and Dr. Klaus Wittstock (BASF) on the role of chemical recycling. Dr. Christoph Epping from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment and bvse President Henry Forster will also take part in the subsequent discussion chaired by Ulrich Schlotter, Head of Projects BKV. As in the first part of the workshop, contributions from workshop participants are welcome.
In the evening, starting at 7:00 p.m., the popular barbecue evening will again be held with an opportunity for personal exchange. On June 29, the Altkunststofftag will then continue with the AG International Plastics Markets and the third Workshop C, where the thematic focus will be on recycling-friendly product design. This year's program of the Altkunststofftag also includes a product exhibition and an exhibitor forum, which participants can visit continuously on both days.
