Borealis: Stefan Doboczky becomes new CEO

Dr. Stefan Doboczky will take over the management of the Austrian polyolefin and base chemicals group as of July 1, 2024.
 

The Austrian company, headquartered in Vienna, has now presented a successor to Thomas Gangl, who will step down as CEO of Borealis on June 30, 2024. Daniela Vlad, Chairwoman of the Borealis Supervisory Board and Head of the Chemicals Division of parent company OMV, commented on the appointment of the new CEO: "Stefan Doboczky has over 30 years of experience in the chemical industry. I am very pleased to welcome him to Borealis. He has in-depth knowledge of our industry and is determined to further expand Borealis' market leadership through his proven innovation and technological capabilities." A chemist with a doctorate from the Vienna University of Technology and an MBA from IMD Lausanne, his career includes board and CEO positions in international chemical companies such as DSM, Lenzing and Heubach. Doboczky has now resigned from his position on the Supervisory Board of OMV, which he has held since 2019, due to his appointment as CEO of Borealis, according to a company statement.
