Borealis: Mirjam Mayer heads "Polyolefins Transformation

Effective March 1, 2022, Borealis has appointed Mirjam Mayer as Vice President Polyolefins Transformation..


Developing and leading the business portfolio of Borealis' Polyolefins Innovation & Technology and Circular Economy Solutions initiatives is Mayer's new role. In 2020, Mayer, who holds a PhD in biochemistry, joined Borealis as Director Strategy & Growth Portfolio to drive the development and implementation of the Borealis Group strategy and support the different business units in strategy and business development as well as growth initiatives. She brings several years of experience as a consultant from her previous position at McKinsey, for which she worked in Germany, India, the USA and Austria. The 40-year-old is a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, USA. She holds a PhD in biochemistry/biophysics from the Max Planck Research Institute and the Technical University in Dresden, Germany.
