The pilot plant is to be built in the Chemelot industrial park in the Netherlands.

Aduro Clean Technologies, a Canadian technology developer, plans to build a pilot plant at its site in Sittard-Geleen in the southern Dutch province of Limburg, where the company's proprietary Hydrochemolytic™ technology will be used for the chemical recycling of mixed or difficult-to-recycle plastic waste, according to the operator of the Chemelot industrial park. According to the information provided, Hydrochemolytic™ Technology is a water-based method for converting low-quality waste streams into high-quality raw materials. The new plant will have an initial capacity of around 10,000 tons per year, with potential for future expansion. Aduro chose Chemelot after comparing locations internationally. Decisive factors were the presence of strong utilities, the proximity of steam crackers in the region, integration into an existing circular value chain, and opportunities for future expansion at the same location.
