Tools for more recyclability

Within the framework of DIMOP, digital tools are being developed to improve the recyclability of plastics.

Since July 2019, the Chair of Business Administration and Information Systems at the Julis-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, the Kunststoffzentrum SKZ and two companies from the Bavarian plastics industry have been working on making plastic products recyclable by trying to reduce the number of material components. To this end, they want to bring together the worlds of developers and recyclers with the help of a software platform. The platform will provide information on the recyclability of different plastics and material combinations. The project "Digital multi-criteria material selection for optimised recycling of plastic products – DIMOP" has a duration of three years and is funded by the Free State of Bavaria as part of a project network.
