Against the background of the Green Deal and climate protection, plastics recycling and the circular economy are said to be particularly challenging topics for plastics processors. Image and, not least, the recruitment of skilled workers would be related to this. In this respect, the annual industry meeting, which will take place this year on September 9, 2021 in Dresden, would also focus on these issues.
First, the two members of the German government's Council of Experts on Waste and Recycling Management, Professor Dr. Christina Dornack and Dr. Roman Maletz from the Technical University of Dresden, will shed light on the role of plastics recycling in the implementation of product stewardship in their keynotes. In this block, Professor Dr. Helmut Maurer from the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment will explain the significance of the Green Deal for plastics processing. Michael Weigelt (photo), managing director of the inviting industry association GKV/TecPart, expects these keynotes to provide essential impetus for the industry "whether we like it or not."
GKV Managing Director Julia Große-Wilde will then give insights into the communication campaign "We are plastics!", a joint initiative of the industry for a positive image of the material and the products made from it, in her technical presentation. Christoph Athanas, senior consultant at Meta HR Unternehmensberatung GmbH, will present how medium-sized companies can also hold their own in the competition for talent in times of pandemic afterwards, using the possibilities of digital recruiting as an example. Finally, the afternoon will be devoted to topics such as future applications and the use of recyclates in automotive engineering, injection molding that learns to fly, the use of recyclates in automotive engineering, life cycle assessments and global market developments in injection molding machines.
