PlasticsEurope with new head of climate protection & circular economy

As of March 1, 2022, Dr. Alexander Kronimus will be responsible for the business unit at the Plastics Producers Association.

Kronimus, who holds a doctorate in geology with a focus on environmental sciences, will take over as head of the Climate Protection and Circular Economy Division (formerly People and Environment) at Plastics Europe Germany from Dr. Ingo Sartorius, who had left the association at the end of 2021 to become managing director of the Plastics Competence Center BKV. Kronimus explains that the new name of the division reflects the association's commitment to the transformation to a climate-neutral circular economy: "Our member companies are committed to this mission and are currently making targeted investments in product recycling and sustainable production processes." As the new business unit manager, Kronimus said he is seeking to forge deeper alliances with other associations, political players, research and industry. He also wants to translate the latest scientific findings into recommendations for action for greater environmental and climate protection in an exchange with the association's stakeholders. The 46-year-old's professional CV includes many years of experience at the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI) as a consultant for energy management as well as internationally oriented research and project management activities.
